OPERATION WAMERU
Last year, we operated in a private reserve in the northern central region of Namibia, as rhinos, there are more and more, there is a big and urgent demand of efficient protection of them.
Most of the rangers who have been trained by us in 2015, work also in other areas or are back to South Africa. They are not enough in this reserve that is actually bigger and bigger.
The content of the training was fully satisfied participants and was perfectly suited to the expectations of leaders. Note however that we lacked equipment to be even more effective.
For this year, the goals remain much the same. The difference is summarized in two points:
1- possibility to be supported by a light helicopter and / or a drone.
2- extension of training in a coaching operation of the team of operators so as to organize a strong anti-poaching unit.
The training content should not change significantly; we will, however, strengthen first aid tactics with more equipment, and go into more detail for the preservation and investigation of crime scene.
